JESUS’  INVITATION

Come, share the road with Me.
I’d love to have your company.
The new year’s path you do not know
so take My hand and I will show
the adventures God has planned for you.

We’ll take the road that’s gently winding,
where each day new joys we’re finding.
When the road is steep and rough,
My guidance and strength will be enough.

Often signposts we will see.  A detour then will only be
a scenic route when you’re with Me.
Don’t fear when fog obscures our view,
for that cloud is My Presence protecting you.

The road winds uphill all the way.
You’ll get closer to Heaven every day.
So come, please share the road with Me.
We’ll have such sweet camaraderie.

THANKFULNESS

It doesn’t take long until a baby says “Mine!’ and “No!”, but it takes years for a mother to teach it to say “Thank-you!”  What child hasn’t been told a thousand times, “Now be sure to say “thank-you” when their child receives a gift?
We know how important “thank-yous” are.  For the giver, a “thank-you” completes the joy of presenting a gift.  Hearing a “thank-you” assures us that the gift is enjoyed and appreciated and that makes us feel good.
Our Heavenly Father feels the same way.  God is the original giver, yet He tells us that He can be blessed by our thanks.  If we can make Him happy, let us not be stingy or slow at giving thanks, but marvel that He cares for us.
A thankful heart enables us to see the abundance God showers on us every day.  Look around you.  Blessings abound.  We have friends and family, smiles and sunny days, the promise of heaven, and most of all, the privilege of having Jesus in our life.  Our thanksgiving must be wholehearted.  “All that is within me” must bless the Lord, for it is the heart God sees.
However, Romans 1:21 tells us that it is dangerous to be ungrateful to God.  “For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God, nor gave thanks to Him.”  This grieved God.  He gave such a great gift.  Oh, how can we ever thank Him enough for giving His Only Beloved Son so that we could have salvation?
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.”    – Psalm 100:4

God Is Sufficient

“My grace is sufficient for you.”  – 2 Corinthians 12:9 The Message translation of the Bible says it this way – “My grace is enough; it’s all you need.”  Several times a day this verse runs through my mind.  It’s like my Heavenly Father is saying, “I’m here.  I’ll help you.  Nothing is too hard […]

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

God uses sparrows to teach us a lesson in trust: His Eye Is On The Sparrow Early every evening as dusk was beginning to fall, a half dozen sparrows would show up outside our living room window.  We watched as they perched on the braces of the awning.  Here they each had their special niches, […]

Tomorrow

This writing “Tomorrow” seems timely for our current uncertainties about our tomorrows:      “Tomorrow!  Tomorrow!      The sun’ll come out tomorrow!” We’re familiar with this theme song from the musical “Annie”, but we are wise to leave tomorrow safely in God’s hands because He is the One who is in charge of the […]
