After living on a farm for 66 years, she and her husband,
Hans, moved to The Inn on Westport, an Independent Living facility in Sioux
Doris has had a deep interest in family history and
pioneer life, and is proud of her Norwegian ancestors. She tries to keep in contact with relatives
in Norway. In the past, even Doris'
hobbies are Norwegian such as working Hardanger embroidery, and baking
Blended into her life is her faith. She enjoys the riches of God's Word and had
led an interdenominational Ladies Bible Study for over fifteen years.
Doris feels greatly blessed by the family God has given
her husband and her - their three grown children with their spouses, their
seven grandchildren with their spouses, and now great grandchildren. Her family brings her much happiness, and
down through the years they have been an encouragement in her writing.
